This well-known expression, was often imagined by means of three monkeys in a row with their hands for the ears, eyes and mouth. Being of good mind, speech and action is the original meaning. We often use it to refer to ‘though observe, turning a blind eye’.
In my work I have used child’s heads to imagine the content. With the help of graphic techniques, printed on fabric and paper in several layers, each head gets its own expression.
